Woo hoo! We got a makeover!

Ready for Valentines Day?

While we here at DrinkGal really subscribe to the notion that Valentines Day is a holiday designed to guilt, punish or sell diamonds, we know that a lot of you are under pressure to impress your loved one on February 14.  So in the spirit of (ahem) love, we found the perfect last-minute solution. New site FatCork.com teamed up with Seattle Chocolatier Theo Chocolate this rosy holiday to bring you unique pairings of Valentine’s Day favorites, Champagne and Chocolate.  Flowers are nice, but booze is better!

We tried out the pairings at a tasting this week, held at FatCork’s warehouse in Seattle. Theo brought three different chocolates to pair with three cuvees, and the result was a little square of heaven. Theo is the only organic, fair trade, bean-to-bar chocolate factory in the U.S., and if you haven’t tried their chocolate yet, you are missing out. Fat Cork, on the other hand, imports amazing Champagne directly from the growers in France, and the owners Bryan and Abby have personal relationships with all of them.  The icing on the cake is the cuvees are Rose, which is sure to please your signficant other if they were dying for a little pink or red. It’s a unique and delicious combination, perfect for a lover of bubbly, chocolate, or just the finer things in life.

While our favorite was the Pascal Redon Premier Cru Rose, paired with the dark almond and cherry chocolate or the 74% single origin dark chocolate from a farm in Madagascar, all of the selections we tasted were amazing and are now available on FatCork.com. And if you live in the Seattle area, you can squeak under the wire and save yourself postage by picking it up.

Happy Valentines Day!
