Yes, it is officially Margarita Day, so grab some salt and your favorite tequila and imbibe!

There are several versions of how this cocktail came into existence, so many that we aren’t going to go into them here. All we know is that we are thankful for it, and we will drink them regardless of who invented it. If you like yours more tart, just leave out the simple syrup.

Classic Margarita

2 oz (a good) tequila
1 oz triple sec
1 oz fresh lime juice
½ oz simple syrup

Put all ingredients in a shaker over ice, shake and strain into an ice filled glass with a salted rim. For a frozen one, just blend it with crushed ice. Garnish with a lime wedge or wheel.
