Dia de Los Muertos
November 2nd is the Mexican holiday of El Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead). It is celebrated in conjunction with the Catholic All Souls Day, and is the day that Mexicans all over the world pray for and remember their dead relatives. Unlike Halloween, the idea behind the Day of the Dead isn’t scary (or centered around candy), its a celebration of food and drink and is full of color, humor and happiness.
The holiday is really a two day event, the first day is in observance of children and infants who have died, the second is for adults. Today is the day for adults, so we thought we would offer up some tasty libations you can drink in remembrance, or just in general celebration of life!
